Guarantee

PEOPLink guarantees your purchase in three ways:

1. We have been working in fair trade for 30 years and know the producers we invite to join FairTradeDirect.com. Therefore if your purchase does not arrive as expected, you can contact our founder and CEO, Dan Salcedo (dsalcedo@peoplink.org) and we will intervene with the supplier to find out what happened. If all measures to resolve the issue with the supplier fail, you can return the purchase to PEOPLink (11112 Midvale, Kensington, MD) and we will refund the full value including shipping.

Suppliers are motivated to keep buyers happy since they know we can always kick them off FairTradeDirect.com to maintain the integrity of this marketplace as well as our reputation.

2. We also guarantee that the producers are legitimately fair trade by one of the following criteria:

 

  • Members of the World Fair Trade Organization, one of its regional or national chapters, or
    the Fair Trade Federation

    •  

     

  • Producers that we certify are already regular suppliers to the fair trade market through WFTO and FTF members

    •  

     

  • Worker owned, democratically organized organizations that can't afford the WFTO dues

    •  


    3. PEOPLink also follows up to ensure that the producer organizations receive at least double their normal income through these channels. It could be through direct payment for goods produced or else additional services such as health.
